MISSION STATEMENT
| |
To serve as a catalyst to bring forth a cooperative, creative spirit
within Clay County that enables us to reclaim and preserve our
unique mountain heritage and natural resources, create new jobs and
provide opportunities, and to encourage economic growth and
prosperity - today and tomorrow.
To take care of our past and to shape a great future -together. |
|
The scenic splendor of Clay County, North Carolina is its
greatest natural resource, and one that requires each of us to see
to its welfare. CCCRA's success as an organization is measured not
by clever slogans, but by the practical energies of community
members working in close partnership to achieve tangible results.
Developing a clear vision of where we wish our county
to be in the coming years is as critical as ever - but transforming
this vision into highly visible accomplishments is the best way to
communicate and secure an enhanced future together.
Please take a closer look at some of our current
projects and past accomplishments.
These include
- Restoring the historic 1888 Clay County Courthouse
- Working to relocate a full replica of an 1800s "Pioneer
Village" close to the square on downtown
Hayesville.
- Helping to build the popular new Jackrabbit Mountain Biking
& Hiking Trails
- Holding regular events like the Chili Cook-Off, the Lies and
Pies Jamboree and the Car-B-Que to build a common bond of
fun and pride among county residents.
